Engineering Technologist - INTERN
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Bright, located in Pleasanton, Ca, is seeking a motivated and talented technician intern. We are a small team pioneering the state-of-the-art in solid-state optical beam-control. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a small team to gain hands-on experience and contribute to real-world projects in a collaborative and exciting environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with the design, testing, and implementation of engineering projects under the guidance of senior engineers. Projects include
Microscale assembly test and process development
Microscale material and geometry testing
Standup of supply chain tools and processes
Conduct experiments and tests to support ongoing process development projects.
Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop innovative solutions for technical challenges.
Contribute to the creation and refinement of technical documentation, including manuals, specifications, and reports.
Support the team with prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of engineering systems or products.
Take part in project meetings and presentations, offering insights and ideas.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering Technology (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc.) or a related field.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
A passion for learning and a desire to apply academic knowledge in real-world settings.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
An ideal candidate would have familiarity with:
Experience with Matlab, Solidworks or Excel
Strong interest in R&D leading to production
Data analysis

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The position requires a combination of sedentary work and working in a controlled environment reviewing equipment, process development and production.
Will work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Will follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body.
This is an on-site role designing, building and testing electrical hardware.
There will be periodic exposure to manufacturing environments which may present hazards such as noise, electricity, chemicals, and other automated and manual machinery.
